Allan is Adopted by Lenny the Cat

Have you heard that saying about how a cat chooses you and not the other way around? I have and I had put it down to a myth until my colleague Allan told me that was actually how his cat became his pet.
Seven years ago he found a scrawny grey and white cat underneath his house. Once he realised it was here to stay, he decided to start feeding it. At first the cat wouldn’t come out if he or anyone else was around so he had to leave food outside and go back inside so the cat could eat. Eventually he started to leave the food closer and closer to the house. It got to the point where the cat trusted him and his family enough to eat when they were around. Then Allan left food in the laundry and that was how the cat made its way into Allan’s house.
It was one untrustworthy cat. It would swipe people on the feet if they came close to him. Allan was worried as he had two young daughters. The cat has since stopped this behaviour but will still swipe people after being stroked. The swipes aren’t hard enough to draw blood but will still leave raised marks on the victim.
Allan wasn’t sure what sex it was. He had two people check it and they both swore it was male. When he took it to the vet even the vet wasn’t sure what sex it was but it was soon determined that it was a desexed female. The cat’s ear had been tattooed, which is what some vets do after desexing a cat, saving the cat from a second desexing operation.
Although the cat’s name is Lenny, Allan calls the cat the Whiskas Cat as he says it looks just like the grey cat on cans of Whiskas.
