And she Comes Running…
August 12th 2010 21:00
It was that time of the month again: I had just come back from holidays just as our month end reports were due. Twelve hour days were required. After one such long day, I walked home, keeping an eye out for the Grouchy Tuxedo Cat and Pepe.
The GTC was nowhere to be seen. However, when I reached the corner of the street where Pepe lives, I saw a small feline figure in the distance. I started to walk towards her when she saw me and came running. I was amazed by how quickly she moved; within seconds she was standing in front of me, rubbing her little furry body against me. I knelt down and she put her front paws on my lap and started kneading me. I put my ear next to her mouth so I could listen to her purr.
I’ve seen Pepe again since that night and she also came running. It’s always sweet to be approached by a feline; Gingersnap will always walk up to me and rub his body against me as well. But Butterscotch is a different story – he likes to watch me first and then approach me when he’s ready. Most of the time my patience is rewarded by him sitting on my lap.
