Another Tuxedo Cat
August 23rd 2010 21:00
Several days after spotting the Chunky Tuxedo Cat, I was exercising in the same street when I spotted a feline in the distance. At first I thought it was the CTC due to its appearance; on closer inspection it turned out to be another tuxedo cat. I looked at her name tag: Tima. We became instant friends. Unlike the Grouchy Tuxedo Cat, Tima was only too happy to let me stroke her.
I had had a stressful day at work but after stroking her for about ten minutes, I found myself forgetting all about my problems. I also noticed feeling calmer.
If it is true that stroking a cat can lower one’s blood pressure then I think doctors should suggest patients with high blood pressure should get a feline or two.
My success with befriending Tima was so great that she even lay on her back, exposing that very vulnerable part of her: The belly. I made a tentative stroke in case she bit me. No bite came. I continued stroking her before she got up. I put my ear near her face and could hear her soft purr.
