Are There Any Sections You Skip When You’re at the Zoo?

Whenever I go to the zoo with my sister, she has a list of the animals she would like to see, in order of priority. At the top of the list are animals she considers exotic and/or cute or beautiful such as sun bears, pelicans, seals and peacocks. In the middle are the zebras, lions, tigers and hippos. At the bottom are the “boring” animals (her word, not mine) such as reptiles, rodents, birds, kangaroos and koala bears. My sister’s justification for classifying such animals are being boring is that she has seen them many times and given that we spend almost every Christmas day at the zoo, she has a limited time to see all the animals. Hence her list.
At first I was shocked by her snobbery but have since understood her reasoning. While I try to see all the animals while I’m at the zoo, I too have a list. The difference is while my sister doesn’t care whether or not she sees the low priority animals, I do and I end up seeing every single animal.
My neighbour hates zoos. She finds the sight of animals in cages – even large roomy ones - distressing. I can see her point of view. On the other hand, I can also see the good zoos do in animal conservation.
What about you? Do you have a similar list when you go to the zoo or do you wander around randomly, seeing whatever takes your fancy?

I try to visit all sections but if am short of time, I'll probably skip the reptiles...particularly the snakes
