Baby Pandas at Wolong Panda Reserve

Now how adorable is this?
Baby Pandas @ Wolong Panda Reserve, Sichuan, 2005.10
I’ve never seen so many panda cubs together in my life! As the caption says, “16, count ‘em, 16 baby pandas!” From a distance, the photos of the baby pandas in the researchers’ arms appear to be soccer balls. Well, that’s what my brain keeps telling me.
My sister plans to visit San Diego Zoo next year so she can see the pandas. I told her that if she wants to see pandas, she should do what my friend Olwen did and fly to China. On her visit to China Olwen went to a sanctuary and got to stand right up close to a panda. Imagine how it would feel to see one in the wild. I think it would just be completely breathtaking.
