Barley

As mentioned before, I was seriously considering adopting a homeless tuxedo cat who I was planning on calling Barley. The night after I made my offer, I went home and wondered if I could provide a good home for her. I looked around m flat. Sure, it was cluttered and untidy but I had plenty of love to give and I thought that was what counts the most. I planned on putting Barley’s kitty litter tray next to the bathtub, where she can do her business in private. I would put Barley’s food and water bowls in the kitchen, another low-traffic area. The rest of my place would become Barley’s playground.
I could imagine Barley sleeping on my bed beside me. Given my insomniac tendencies, this made me wonder how well I would sleep. I remember keeping ducklings in our shared bedroom when my sister and I were teenagers and how difficult it was to sleep due to the loud cheeping they made. Would this be the same with Barley?
So I was excited and full of anticipation the next day when I saw the person who was giving away Barley. Alas, he told me he had already found her a home. I couldn’t help but feel disappointed, although I told myself it simply wasn’t meant to be.
I was happy, though, the Barley had found a home so quickly. I hope for her sake it’s a good home and her new owner will grow to love her as much as I did.

But my Ze Ze, from her first day, cuddled right into me and just seems to have a relaxing aura about her. It doesnt matter if she purrs or not, she just puts me to sleep. Even if Im too alert I can lay quiet and relaxed until sleep comes with her by my side. The downside is she can put me back to sleep when my alarm goes off! Or, the worst - she sits on it so I cant hear it.

Sorry for the late reply - I am on holidays so am only checking the net once in a while.
I tried napping with Brett's cats beside me. I've only been able to drop off once. I find them too distracting.
Katyzzz, I was surprised by how quickly the cat went as normally people don't show much interest in re-homing homeless animals. That's what my friends tell me anyway.
