Basement Bargain

Any renter would know how painful flat hunting is – especially if you are forced to look for a new place to live. My weekends are so dull now. Saturdays are spent looking at unit after unit after unit. And it’s not like the units are concentrated in a small area. Often I find myself running from one block to another just so I don’t miss the open house.
This does not leave time for my other weekend pursuits – namely, browsing in bookstores. In a way, Borders’ closure is a blessing in disguise as I no longer have time to trek out to the Chatswood store.
Tired after another Saturday spent sprinting around looking at units, I decided to wander down to Basement Books, which is located just outside Central Station. I had a quick look and was about to walk out when I spotted the spine of this book out of the corner of my eye. Unlike the usual BB offerings, this one did not have a remainder mark it. It’s a true bargain then.
When I showed Fred, the first thing he noticed was how surly the kitten on the right looks. Why is it that felines have that knack for looking peed off that canines don’t?
