Blind Alley cat

Being extremely myopic (my optometrist once told me I had 20/2 vision) my sister likes to nickname me the Blind Alley. Which leads to the topic of the cat statue that is outside the State Library of NSW.
I remember my sister mentioning the statue to me several months ago but I forgot all about it until I had to attend a work conference at the State Library. I was on my way back to work with one of my colleagues following from behind when all of a sudden he pointed the statue out to me.
“Where?” I asked, looking around.
“Right behind you. Behind the fountain.”
“I can’t see anything. I’m hopeless with stuff like this. Give me some pointers.”
“See that window? It’s right underneath it on the ledge.”
I looked again. All I saw was some black fuzzy thing in the distance. Apparently that was the cat.
In a hurry, I told him I would have a closer look later on.
Several days later I happened to be going past the State Library when I remembered the cat. I went towards the area my colleague mentioned and there it was. I took some photos. I also noticed paw prints nearby so I took photos of them as well. How sweet. Some lucky cat has been immortalised.
