Borders Playlist

It’s amazing how eclectic some people’s tastes in music are. While I have chosen to stick to soul music, my Durannie sister now listens to Lady Gaga, the Presets, MGMT and Usher. Fred likes Bob Dylan and electronic music. And audio visual man Brett likes basically everything except for heavy metal and techno.
My sister has now added Adele to her playlist. Ditto Brett. When I first found out about this I thought they were nuts. Okay, so I’m biased but that’s because I seem to hear Adele everywhere I go. I hear her songs in TV programmes and commercials and on radio. To top it off, Borders Chatswood had her on high rotation during their closing down sale. I would go there every Saturday and be guaranteed to hear the entire 21 album over and over again.
The staff at Borders Bondi Junction told me since they no longer stocked CDs, the staff had to bring in their own if they wanted to have music playing in the store. This reminds me of the time when my best friend Andrea worked at Kmart. She told me how she dreaded Christmas as she could only listen to Elvis’ Christmas Album so many times.
When I mentioned this to my sister, she said I should compile a Borders closing down sale playlist – you know, just to relive those vivid memories I still have of shopping there. So here it is:
Borders Chatswood
Rolling in the Deep (which I thought was called Rolling in the Dirt until Brett enlightened me)
Someone Like You
Borders Bondi Junction
Dancing on my Own – Robyn
Dangerous – Faker
Presets – If I Know You
Firework – Katy Perry
The Long and Winding Road – the Beatles
I am the Walrus – the Beatles
Justify my Love - Madonna
The Boy Does Nothing - Alesha Dixon
The Rhythm of the Night - Corona
You Can't Touch This - MC Hammer
Barbra Streisand - Duck Sauce
