Brett’s Back
August 10th 2010 21:00
Exhausted after a long day at work, I decided to go to bed early. Just as I was about to hop into bed, my phone went off. Normally Brett is the only one who calls me after dinner time so I naturally assumed it was him. Instead, it was a text message from another friend, wondering if I could meet up with her over the weekend. I decided to reply to her in the morning.
I was now in bed and was about to turn the light off when the phone went off again. Thinking it was my friend, I was going to tell her I was in bed when I saw Brett’s number appear. He wanted to know when I was free to catch up.
When we did catch up, we talked about our fight and Brett apologised for his behaviour and explained he had not responded to my messages as he was p*ssed off with me at the time. But now, all was forgiven.
As usual, his felines showered me with love. Gingersnap kept coming up to me while Butterscotch watched from afar before Gingersnap went over and decided to pick a fight with him. Brett started laughing, explaining that Butterscotch was terrified of Gingersnap and would soon be running off. I found it odd that a cat who had no qualms about biting humans couldn’t handle fighting with another cat.
In the end, Butterscotch crawled onto my lap while Gingersnap sat beside me, licking Butterscotch and then Brett. I volunteered my finger for a lick but none was forth coming.
