Butterscotch and Gingersnap Choose Brett to be Their Dad
February 17th 2009 21:00
Now I’ve heard that people don’t choose cats – it’s cats that choose their owners. I wondered if that applied to Butterscotch and Gingersnap. I didn’t think so as Brett had already told me he had chosen them after a friend who worked at the Cat Protection Society sent him a photo of them. Brett was interested so he decided to pay them a visit.
There they were, locked inside a cage. Brett said the moment they met him, they knew he was going to be their dad. They seemed happy to meet him so Brett paid the adoption fee and took the cats home in their carrier.
Once released inside Brett’s house, the cats were happy to explore their new surroundings. There was no settling in period. This surprised me as I have read in many cat books that cats don’t like changes in their environment. But then again, surely a being moved to a comfy cottage is a lot better than being locked up in a cage.
On the other hand, like many cats, Butterscotch and Gingersnap hate going to the vet. Once they are in their carrier and placed in Brett’s car, they start miaowing all the way to the vet and back.

Theres no cats that like the vet, but they probably cry in the car because cats get bad motion sickness. They cant equalize their ears like us so the car feels like being in a cardboard box in the wild ocean.

I'm sure you're right about motion sickness. Luckily for my darling boys, the vet is only a five minute trip away.
