Butterscotch Bites me
September 21st 2009 21:01
My favourite boy has turned bad. Bad cat! How can he do this to me? He now bites me. Not hard like he does with Brett. They are more like love bites. He loves to open his mouth and gently place his teeth around my arm. I always say, “Gentle” in this tone of voice that lets him know anything harder will not be tolerated. He seems to understand as he has not drawn blood (touch wood).
Compare this to my friend Brett, who is covered in scratches and bite marks whenever I see him. Butterscotch also likes to scratch me but like the biting, it is very gentle and again, not hard enough to cause any injury.
Gingersnap is not interested in such violent activities. Instead, he likes to sit down and wash himself. He washes himself so often that his coat often smells of tuna. His breath also smells of tuna.
Why doesn’t that happen to my ex-neighbour’s cats, Higgins and Miggins? Part of the fun of having some cats around is being able to bury my face in their silky coat. Higgins and Miggin’s coat never smells so how come Gingersnap’s smells fishy? It must come down to the different brands of cat food they eat.
