Cat Kisses

Every night when I take a shower I make up silly songs about my favourite boys, Butterscotch and Gingersnap. One of them is about Butterscotch flying through the air. Another one is about me exchanging kisses with a cat.
Now I have heard that germs can be spread from kissing cats but people I know who have cats don’t seem to care. My friend, Brett, for instance, likes to hold his cats against his body and kiss their fur. My ex-neighbour used to get her cats to sit on a chair and get them to give her a kiss. She’d say, “Give us a kiss,” and bend forward. Her cats would respond by lifting their heads up and giving her a kiss on the lips. How cute!
The other thing my neighbour would get her cats to do was to say “mum”. Again, she would bend down and say, “Say “mum””. The cats would miaow back. Each time it sounded like a miaow but my neighbour swore they were actually saying the word “mum”. It’s so cute to watch. It’s even cuter to watch Brett kiss his cats. They don’t seem to mind and the gesture appears to be so expressive, as if Brett is telling the world how much he loves them. Maybe I should try it some time. I definitely would if I could be sure I couldn’t catch anything. Just imagine if I got worms. That is one of my worst nightmares which is why I make sure I always wash my hands after touching animals.

Get over it and kiss a cat! I kiss cats all day! And horses. You will not get worms! Worms are passed on through droppings and even if you wash your hands you are still vulnerable. So you have to eat a square of worming chocolate, big deal. I probably have worms.
With 8 cats, a sparrow, a budgie, two ducks, a pigeon, a mynah bird, and 5 horses, we have filth everywhere. I clean up everyday - human and animal enclosures - but by the next morning theres kitty litter, straw and general dust filth everywhere. Worse at this time of year, cos we bring in wood for the fire so theres wood chips and little beasties everywhere. Woke up this morning with a huntsmen over the bed.
I love to kiss my colt on the soft part of his nose. Horses, like cats, love being touched, cuddled, rubbed all over, and sometimes we just stand and look into each others eyes and breath each others air. I'll graze my lips over his soft nose and he nuzzles me back.
Living with animals and their filth boosts your immune system, as you are exposed to lots of different organsisims/pathogens and you build up antibodies against them over long periods of time.
