My colleague and I decided to boycott Kris Kringle. He was worried he would be the only one. On the day, he had nothing to fear; it turned out there were plenty of people in our office who didn’t want to participate.
But one of our team members did. He went upstairs to collect his present, only to return half an hour later, laughing while he is standing at my desk.
“I think they gave this present to the wrong person,” he said, holding a flip book showing various office signs HERE . He held it in front of me. “‘Do I look like a people person?’” he asked. “I think this was meant for you.”
I ended up laughing as well. My closest team members are well aware of my dislike of interacting with people. Other signs included: Never argue with idiots; I don’t look busy because I did it right the first time; and I believe in customer service, the tooth fairy and father christmas.
Merry Christmas to everyone and my beloved boys, Butterscotch and Gingersnap.
