Conserving Energy
July 21st 2011 21:00
Okay. I’ve bought into the suburban dream. I’ve just purchased my landlady’s unit and I’m getting close to forty. My hair is going so grey even Fred told me to start dyeing it until I bit his head off. And I still go out to bars and nightclubs.
Now that I’m a middle aged bore, the night before I go clubbing, I get plenty of sleep. On the actual day, I sit around the house, trying to conserve my energy for the actual night. This whole process reminds me of a polar bear. Gone are the days when I would nap for a few hours, get up to go clubbing, go home and sleep for a few more hours before heading into work.
I spent last Saturday doing this. I had gone for my usual ten kilometre walk. Not a good idea but I had things to do and places to go. I then came home at 6pm and sat down reading the paper, trying to move as little as possible. Finally, the hour of ten came. I slowly got up, showered and choose a simple but classic Grecian dress to wear.
My rest paid off as I had enough energy to keep going all night. At the bar, I met up with Brett and some other friends and we danced and talked about music and I got my update on the boys which wasn’t much since Brett was just pleased to see Gingersnap recover from his surgery.

I hope so, I hope so! Too bad I don't live in a pet friendly building. Still, there's always the GTC.
