Over the weekend, my sister decided to drive and park in the city. Given that she lives so close to the city, I thought she had gone mad. When I questioned her she said something about the parking meters in Darlinghurst being dead cheap and it worked out cheaper to drive and park than to catch public transport, particularly when her friend who was with her was also going to go halves with the parking.
Later on, she decided to give me a lift home. She was driving through Darlo when all of a sudden she put the brakes on. I looked out the window and saw a small dog cross the road. That reminded me of something one of my colleagues told me: A few days ago she was driving when she almost had to put the brakes on. On the road was a tiny kitten. My colleague was about to stop when the kitten looked up and saw the car and quickly got off the road. “As small as it was, it finally got its road smarts and avoided being hit,” said my colleague.
