Did They Really Have to Kill These Dogs?
February 6th 2011 21:00
I’m in mourning again. This time it is over the deaths of 100 dogs that were killed due to the slump in Canadian tourism after the 2010 Winter Olympics had finished HERE. This is so typical of us humans. What do you do with something that has served its purpose and is of no value anymore? Throw it out or, in this case, kill it. Brilliant! I wish I had thought of that first.
Why couldn’t they have been donated to an animal shelter or to the RSPCA? I’m sure there are some dog lovers out there who are only too willing to give them a home. And, if they really did have to be killed, why couldn’t they have been put to sleep? From the newspaper accounts, it sounded as if the dogs had died slow, painful deaths with multiples shots in the head.
I’m so ashamed to be human. Yes, we truly are the master species.
