Do People Have to Kill Everything?

Last Friday it was reported that a Gollum- like creature had been killed by some teenagers:

If the creature existed, it would have been nice if the carcass was made available to researchers so they could identify exactly what it was and/or whether it was a new species of animal.

It sounds so cruel for it to have died after being pelted with rocks and beaten with sticks. Why do some people have to be so destructive?


It would be nice to know whether it truly was a hoax.
