Do You Believe Animals Have Ghosts?
October 5th 2008 21:00
On the night my beloved ducks Brown-o and White-o went missing, my sister, mother and I swore we heard them quacking softly in our backyard. When we went outside to check, there was no sign of them. My mother, who’s interested in the paranormal, said the sounds were of their ghosts and that the ducks had already passed on and it was their way of letting us know they were now okay.
I didn’t know what to think at the time but just as my mother predicted, we never saw the ducks again. If I was alone it would have been all too easy to explain the quacking away as being a figment of my imagination but when two other people say they have heard the same thing…
If it is true that humans can have ghosts then it should be no surprise that animals also have ghosts. Have you had any ghostly experiences with animals? If so, what were they?

I found it interesting to know my family aren’t the only ones who have had spooky experiences relating to animals. My sister even swears she once saw a UFO land in our backyard!

Ghosts are associated with strong emotion, so Im not surprised to hear about the horse and rider appirition on the road. It is possible for animals to manifest as spirits, but its a challenge for even humans to build up that much energy, so animals usually dont manage it. Yes, I have seen some of mine come back and visit, but they are more likely to just reincarnate.
There is also a school of thought revolving around an energy 'imprint' (or replay) which means if you walk the same way everyday, after you have died sometimes people still see you there. In that case the connection is forged between the memory of your energy and the persons expectation. The place on the road where motorists see the horses - Im sure they expect to see horses, and the torn up emotions of those who have died there provide the image.

After Bruce disappeared, another cat, I still felt him jump up on the bed with me, and could smell him and sense him. Hear the purring.
Mums horse Raj has never left her, and its been years since he died. All of us have seen him out the window - a black horse just suddenly there with the others. Sometimes I hear him whinny. Sometimes the youngest horse looks like he's playing with an invisible friend.
After Chester died,(my first horse) he hung around for a few days. Whenever I thought I couldnt bear the grief, Id suddenly smell him and have the clearest sensation of his coat under my fingertips.
After Poshe(a maned goose) was killed I was crying in the pen the next day and I heard his call, so different to normal duck quaks, and hear the whisper of his wings as he told me he was ok now....And when Gwen(pacific black duck) died I felt she was with him. Sometimes I still feel them in the pen, and I wish theyd move on. Its no place to spend eternity.
