Do You Have Invisible Pets?
October 8th 2008 21:00
Since I live alone, sometimes I feel lonely. That’s when I will pretend Butterscotch and Gingersnap are with me. I end up talking to invisible cats and hope my neighbours don’t hear me. I will also make up songs about them and sing them in the shower. Does anyone else do this?
Sometimes when I’m making breakfast, I’ll picture Butterscotch and Gingersnap flying up onto the top of the kitchen cupboards. When I go to bed, I like to imagine the two cats are curled up beside me. They will be rolled up into tiny balls, purring away. These fantasies help me sleep.
I go to bed looking at pictures of the two cats. I wake up and the first thing I see are their pictures as I keep them beside my bed. At work I have pictures of them at my workstation. My sister says I have gone cat crazy. Am I obsessed?
No matter where I go I have cats on my mind. There’s the Grouchy Tuxedo Cat who lives near my place. I look out for him every day but I tend to see him on weekends. If I am really lucky I run into Figaro. Figaro is the small black cat with golden eyes who lives a block away. He likes to rub his body against my legs. I like to stroke his fur. Figaro’s owner likes to get him and take him home at about 5.30 pm every day – about the same time I arrive home from work so I seldom get to see him. There’s nothing like the sensuous feeling of being rubbed by a cat after a long day at work.

People can be warm and loving too, but naturally, as we do, they all come with faults.

Husband hunting? No way as I don't believe in marriage.
The problem I find with people in general is their many faults annoy me. And I'm sure I annoy many people too as I don't tend to think the same way most people do.

What a coincidence! I have one to give! Go on, ask your landlord. Whats the worst that can happen? If he says no to one tiny little very clean cat I will shut up forever...
Seriously though darl, you are an animal person. I know you have your reasons for saying no, but there are animals out there that need your caring, loving and understanding spirit - you are a perfect animal mommy.
I love these little kittens so much, I have 2 girls and 1 boy - a ginger who looks a bit like your tonkinese - and all I want is to find loving homes for them. I would feel completely confident giving one to you because I know you would love it and care for it properly.
Have you asked anyone yet? I am going to do individual pics on my blog soon so everyone can meet them. They will be ready to go in about 3 weeks and I am prepared to desex them for the new owner but micro chip and rego will be up to the owner. They are healthy and beautiful.
Think about it honey....The only reason Im so pushy is because I KNOW you will be a great cat mommy, and I know you will eventually end up with animals....So why fight it?
Let me know if you find anyone who is willing.

Thanks for your kind words.
I've kept my eyes and ears open but I haven't found any takers. I've also been working 12 hour days lately so at the moment, as much as I'd love to take one of your babies, I feel I will not be able to give it enough attention.
I'm curious about your situation, though. You strike me as a responsible companion animal owner so how did you end up with three babies? Just wondering.

Keep on loving and sharing those animals with us. Humans are animals too, so they tell me.

I've found someone who is interested. She wants to how much they are and whether you have more pictures of them. Please message me the details. Also, where are the kittens located? The person who's interested lives in Sydney and she wants to know how far she has to travel to get them. Thanks.
Katyzzz,
I'll keep what you've said in mind but you must realise after being hurt many times by people, I prefer the company of animals.

Thankyou for that, because what I have done is infinitely IR- responsible!
Awhile ago mum adopted a feral cat we named Juliet. Mum wanted desperately to keep her but as a fully mature wild cat she didnt want to be kept. She had kittens in our garden shed and before we could take control of the situation she disappeared with her babies and has never been seen again.
Zenith is one of Juliets kittens. I found Zenith dying in our feedshed - belly full of kittens she had collapsed and barely had the strength to run from me, and she is much younger than Juliet was, so when I brought her near the house to feed her she wasnt afraid. I have simply adopted her and decided to keep her...And one baby.
I have a very dark, selfish motive.
My girl cat, Xiara, was a gift by my best friend on my 18th birthday. I have lived in a state of horror after realizing that she will not be with me in my old age - she's already 8 (50 in human years!) and so I want Zenith and Niah to comfort me when she is one day no longer here.
Likewise I have spent years trying to get a daughter from my broodmare Teshan, simply from the selfish drive that I dont want to have to miss her.
Considering that if Zenith had collapsed on ANY of our neighboring properties she would have been shot or poisoned or drowned...I think Ive done well for her. Any animal that comes to our door needing help is helped, its as simple as that. So, that is how I have ended up with babies to give away!
