Dog Crashes Into my Dad’s Car

When I was little there used to be a dog who liked to chase after cars. It looked liked a golden retriever. It would hang around the front of its owner’s property and wait for cars to go by. Unfortunately the dog lived a few blocks from my home so my parents had no choice but to drive past it everyday. My father would always try to avoid a collision with the dog. This was easy to do as the dog usually ran alongside or behind our car. But one afternoon the dog decided to towards the front of the car. My dad tried to swerve to avoid crashing into the dog but it was too late. I heard a big thump as the dog crashed its face into the car before jumping back. The owner saw what happened and came up to the car, screaming at my dad. My dad was trying to explain it was not his intention to hurt the dog but the owner was livid with rage. My dad then drove home in a huff. His attitude was the dog was dangerous and shouldn’t be allowed to run around like that.
I wondered what would happen the next time we drove past that property but the owner must have placed the dog in a secure location as we never saw that dog again. I hope the dog was okay. In one way, I blame the owner. She shouldn’t have let her dog chase cars like that as sooner or later it could have gotten run over. I hope she did secure the dog in her backyard and it ended up living a safe and happy life.
