Don’t you Pull That Tail
January 2nd 2012 21:00
I am lonely. I crave feline company which is why I often talk to my invisible cat friends. Or I pretend to be a cat talking to a human. My latest dialogue goes like this: “Don’t you pull my tail. Don’t you touch my tail. You leave that tail alone.” Then I switch voices. In a high pitched voice, I reply, “No one’s going to touch your tail, Butterscotch.” I’d hate to think what the neighbours would think which is why I to do this as little as possible. The worst part is when I start singing about Butterscotch when I am exercising while I am out and about. I’m normally alone when I start my little ditty about him but more than once, a human comes along and I have to stop, praying the person didn’t notice I was singing or that I was singing an absurd song about a cat who flies and dances through the air.
Is it any wonder I was labelled the weirdo at school? Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing. All it means I chose to go against society.
