Food for Thought

March 16th 2011 21:00

It’s amazing what certain creative minds can come up with.

“How were the kittens last night?” asked one of my colleagues the day after he said my Jane Burton book looked liked a cat cookbook. “Did they taste good? Would you say they are white meat or red meat?”

I had to think for a minute. “I don’t know. I can ask my parents.” My parents once ate cat back in China so they would know.

“White meat,” said a second colleague.

“Yeah, they have blood vessels so they must be white meat,” chimed a third one.

That argument doesn’t make sense. Cows and sheep have blood vessels and their meat definitely is not white.

This certainly gives a new meaning to the expression food for thought.
