Fred Gives Scottish Folds the Thumbs Down

Talk about being fussy. Despite calling himself a cat lover, Fred doesn’t like Siamese or other oriental breeds. He also doesn’t like thin cats. Now he doesn’t like Scottish Folds.
We were flicking through the newspaper one day when I stopped at a photo of a cat.
“Ooh, a pussy cat!” cried Fred. Then came the dismay: “Oh, it’s one of those with the folded ears.”
“They’re called Scottish Folds,” I elaborated.
“I don’t like them. I like cats with normal ears.”
Normal ears. I have yet to ask him what he thinks of hairless cats. Probably the same.
