Fugly

My sister and I are Chris Lilley fans. She got into him after I lent her my Summer Heights High DVD. Like the characters in the show, she started using the word fugly.
It happened around the same time I had a massive row with Brett. She started calling him Fugly. While we were fighting, I was on holidays and had no internet access. I asked my sister to log into my Facebook account to check to see if there was anything interesting to pass onto me. I also asked her to check if Brett had defriended me just as I have defriended people after having fall outs with them.
Several hours later, I got a text message: “Y’re still his FRIEND on FB, posted a new fugly photo. He’s a HAS-BEEEEEEN”
Cut to November 2011. I sent my sister a text message telling her a David Attenborough documentary was about to be shown on TV. It happened to feature footage of an Artic Woolly Bear Caterpillar that would hibernate on and off over fourteen years before becoming a moth. It showed close ups of the caterpillar munching away, something no caterpillarphobic wants to see.
There was no reply until two days later when I got a message saying “Yup goddamn ugly caterpillar”
Work had been extremely busy and I had forgotten all about the caterpillar. In fact, I wasn’t even sure if the message was supposed to be sent to me so I asked her. She said it was her delayed response to my TV show notification sms.
