Fur-free Cats and Dogs

Is it just me or does anyone else find hairless cats and dogs cute? My sister says they’re ugly. So does one of my work colleagues. I admit I used to feel the same way but over the past few months I have come to admire their beauty. Seeing a picture of a cute Sphynx cat with a black heart-shaped spot on its back in a recent issue of Cat Fancy magazine helped.
Still, I feel sorry for the poor buggers. According to Wikipedia, because Sphynx cats lack fur, they can get cold very quickly. They can also suffer sunburn. I imagine hairless dogs would have similar problems. How frustrating it must be not to have fur to keep them warm. They would probably be prone to injury – they couldn’t get into fights with other cats or dogs. At least fur provides a certain amount of protection.
Wikipedia also says hairless cats’ skin has the same colourings as their fur would be, if they had any. That solves one question I had about them. So does that mean if I shaved a tuxedo cat, the cat’s skin would be black and white then? Would a white-haired dog have white skin? Since I have no intentions of carrying out such an act, I guess I’ll never find out.
I mean, just check out the beauty in the picture above. Do you really find it ugly?
And that about this one? I find this African hairless dog really cute. It reminds me of a deer:
