Getting a Bargain

April 12th 2011 21:00

Shopping at Borders one day, I found one of Jane Burton’s cat books. Although it was shelf worn, it was in much better condition than the one I had purchased. I asked the person behind the counter for a discount. She offered me ten per cent.

I decided to have a think about it. I happened to have a voucher which said if I bought two books, I could get thirty per cent off. I went in search for another book but they didn’t have anything else I wanted. Then, all of a sudden, I got an idea.

I headed for the children’s section. I went in search for the cheapest book I could find – a Golden book. However, they didn’t have the cat one I wanted. I was about to give up when I spied a Ladybird book about Puss in Boots. Perfect! For an extra five dollars, I ended up getting thirty per cent off both books. Not a bad deal considering the Jane Burton one was seventy seven dollars.
