Getting in Touch With my Inner Child
November 12th 2012 21:00
I think Fred and I are kidults.
“Even though I’m in my sixties, I still feel like a big kid,” said Fred, referring to his collection of U.S. marine figurines (“They are not GI Joes.”) and other military paraphernalia.
“Same here,” I said, thinking of my books.
Fred has this theory that everyone needs crap in their lives, crap being Fred’s euphemism for entertainment. Without crap, so the theory goes, we would all go insane. Therefore, each person is entitled to a crap fund which they use to spend on crap.
The only issue in Fred’s eyes is that the crap will accumulate. “If only you could have a room where you can stick all the crap in there and go back to retrieve it when nostalgia hits,” said Fred.
Here are my latest additions to my own pile of crap.
