Gingersnap is now a Dress-Biter

Can you believe only a few posts ago I said Gingersnap was the perfect cat? He has now changed.
The last time I saw him, which was only a few days ago, I was wearing a long ankle-length dress. Gingersnap seemed particularly interested in that dress. Whenever I went near him he would try to crawl inside it. I would then pull the dress away from him.
I went and sat on the lounge beside Brett, who was playing with Butterscotch. Brett kept waving his hand in front of the cat and soon, Butterscotch was lying on his back in Brett’s lap, ready to grab Brett’s arm with his four paws and bite him. Brett didn’t seem to mind but I could understand why many cat books recommend you don’t do this.
So there was Brett, letting his cat catch the ‘prey’ from time to time. Butterscotch was having a great time, chewing away on Brett’s hand. Every now and then Brett would give Butterscotch a smack on his rump.
“Don’t do that!” I admonished. “You’re hurting him.”
“No, he loves it,” Brett said and sure enough, Butterscotch didn’t seem to mind at all.
Seeing the two of them so occupied with each other, my attention soon turned back to Gingersnap, the so-called placid one.
I noticed he was again, under my dress. I tried to pull away but it was too late. Gingersnap lay on his back and grabbed my dress with his front paws. He then moved his head so he could start to bite it. I was now wondering how I could get my dress away from the cat without being bitten or scratched in the process.
“He’s going to rip it,” Brett said.
I managed to grab one paw and gently lift it off my dress. I then did the same thing with the other paw. Paws freed, Gingersnap then released my dress from his jaws and I was free to go.
