I Have to get my BOP Book Soon
November 16th 2011 21:00
Oh, crap. I recently went to the Australian Museum’s gift shop just to see how many copies of their birds of paradise book were there. The last time I checked there were five copies. Now they are down to two.
I’ve just paid my strata levies and am in no hurry to embark on more lavish spending. That said, I don’t have long to scrape up $99 to get a copy of one of these books. You can always buy online, I can hear you saying. I did; the copies on Amazon marketplace are double what the AM is charging for a signed copy.
On the other hand, a year ago one of my colleagues had just started a business degree at university. He asked me where was the cheapest place to buy books. He had seen a text book at Dymocks for about $180. He thought he could get a better price elsewhere. I told him to try Amazon. They had it on Amazon marketplace for $100. I then suggested Amazon UK. The UK marketplace had it for $80. He was laughing as he pulled out his credit card to purchase it and thanked me for saving him money.
