Keyboard Walkers

November 7th 2011 21:00

What is it about cats’ tendency to walk on keyboards? I got a tiny update about Butterscotch and Gingersnap the other day. Brett was again justifying why he has chosen to cut off all contact with them.

“They now live with the vet. At first Gingersnap would sleep with the Labrador. Butterscotch wouldn’t. But eventually, he came around. And when I saw them for the last time…the vet was typing away on her computer and the boys were walking all over her keyboard, I realised I had to cut myself off from them. And they don’t know me anymore. At first, it was as if their faces were saying, ‘It’s him.’ But after a while, it took them longer to recognise me. Cats are like that. They adjust to their new surroundings.”

He can say what he likes but to me, they are still my boys and are still loyal. Cats recognise people by smell, not by sight anyway so obviously Brett didn’t stand too close to them.
