Kitten in 3-D Book
October 9th 2011 21:00
I now have my eye on a 3D kitten book HERE. It comes complete with 3D glasses. I wonder if the cats will look as good in 3D as the M.C. Escher birds mentioned in my earlier post.
They call it the lipstick effect: When times are tough, women like to indulge in more affordable items that bring them pleasure – namely lipsticks. I didn’t even know there was a name for such a phenomenon or that such a phenomenon exists. In my case, it’s the book effect. Yes, times are tough in the Queenie household so I indulge when I can in books. I seem to live by the rule that you can never have too many books. It’s amazing how many you can cram into a bookcase.
I just hope that when I get the book that the cats live up to expectation. I remember those 3D art books that were all the rage in the nineties. For the life of me, I could not get my eyes to see whatever it was I was supposed to see. And yet my sister could see each and every one of them. A friend of mine had the same frustration as me and he said it’s a gift that either you have or don’t have.
At least the photos in the 3D kitten book can be appreciated without the glasses. That is, they don’t have that horrible blue and red overlapping colour effect that you see in some 3D books.
