MC Escher 3D Viewer

What a day. I lost my Android over the weekend. By the time I realised it was missing, I had been to several shops, trying on clothes. I was also at Centennial Park at the time, about half an hour’s walk from those shops. I wondered whether to walk back or to call them. I finally chose the latter.
With no luck, I decided to quickly run an errand in Bondi Junction before heading home. Back in my bedroom – the usual Android resting place – I looked everywhere but still couldn’t find it. I was about to call Optus to suspend the service when I located the Android on my Borders bookcase.
Something else also turned up: my M.C. Escher 3D viewer. On the other side of the artwork is a pair of 3D glasses that you use to view the same artwork in 3D due to it being printed double sided. I had purchased this in about 2000 and had not managed to locate it. Since I have moved several times over the past four years, I simply assumed it was still packed away in one of my boxes. Imagine how surprised I was to discover it wedged inside the springs of my mattress.
When I think of the number of times Fred and my removalist had moved my mattress, it’s amazing to think it had not fallen out during transit. The viewer was also covered in cockroach poo – a legacy of the decrepit building that I used to live in. I spent Saturday night gently wiping off as much of the cockroach guano as I could and now I can enjoy M.C. Escher in 3D all over again. Don’t you just love the birds?
