It’s 8 am and it’s Christmas Day. Have you bought your companion animals any presents?
No doubt, my ex-neighbour will be writing out a card to her beloved cats, Higgins and Miggins, telling them how much she loves them and what good boys they have been this year. Maybe her neighbour will do what he did one year and leave a Christmas card under her door with the following PS: dogs rule!
Even if you’re one of those people like me, who don’t celebrate Christmas, it’s still a good time to kick back your heels and relax. Spend some time with those you love, human and non-human.
My sister will probably take me to the zoo today, depending on her mood. If we do end up going there, she will no doubt go through her list of animals she wants to see. At the top of her list will be the pelicans, as my sister finds them really cute. She will also want to see the gorillas, orangutans, seals, wombats, giraffes and the sun bear. In the afternoon she will see the koala bears and kangaroos.
My friend Brett will be celebrating with his family and I hope that includes Butterscotch and Gingersnap. Andrea will be doing the same. For unsentimental Fred, it’s just another day, although he would have by now, handed out some “Merry Xmas from Mr and Mrs Frog” cards to his friends and colleagues. (The humble green frog is Fred’s alter ego.)
After working back many days lately due to my team being short one person, I am certainly going to enjoy the break while I can.
