Missing Cat Turns up Nine Years Later

For anyone who has ever lost a pet, there is always the chance – no matter how slim – that it may turn up days, weeks or even months later. But years?
So it must have been a dream come true for Alan and Gilly Delaney to be reunited with their ginger and brown cat Dixie nine years after it disappeared. And their baby was picked up by the RSPCA only half a mile away from their Birmingham home in England.

What I’d like to know is what happened to Dixie between the time she was lost and found. Did she become someone else’s pet? Or did she live on the streets, raiding through bins for food scraps in order to survive. There is no way we would ever know. I wonder if Dixie even recognizes her owners.
Luckily for the Delaneys, Dixie was microchipped so finding her owners was easy.
