Monty Gives me his Love

Monty is another of my animal friends. Like Figaro, who I wrote about in my previous post, I hadn’t seen him for months. Then came last weekend. I was on my way to my sister’s house and I walked past the hairdressing salon where he can be found, lying just in front of the salon’s doors. Except this time, he was inside. I stopped and looked at him. Our eyes met. Monty stood up from the floor and started to get excited. A man inside the salon opened the door and Monty came out to shower my face with many dog licks. I sat down and put my arms around him and patted him along his back.
“Is he yours?” I asked the man.
“He’s my wife’s,” he said. “He’s normally here every Sunday.”
“What kind of dog is he?”
“A Staffy.”
After a couple of more licks and pats I said, “I better go so you can have him back.”
“You can have him all day if you want,” said the man before going back inside. “He loves people.” Just the kind of dog I like.
