My 100th Caterpillar Dream
June 29th 2009 21:00
My subconscious must be obsessed with caterpillars, if the number of dreams I have about them are anything to go by. The latest one was quite a beauty. I dreamt I was walking on a dry, dusty area when I nearly stepped on a large black and green swallowtail caterpillar. The caterpillar was almost as big as my foot. I cried out in fear only to find myself awake and lying in the safety of my bed.
Why can’t I dream about something pleasant for a change?
I also often dream about tripping over or falling down the stairs. As with the caterpillar dreams, these dreams are related to my fear of heights. They are not pleasant either and they always jolt me awake. On the other hand, I would rather dream about falling over any day instead of having caterpillar dreams.
My third phobia is of dentists, particularly tooth extractions. That’s one phobia I don’t dream about simply because I have never experienced an extraction. Sooky me, chose to have my wisdom teeth removed in one hit in hospital. But I often dream about my teeth falling out.
My sister also dreams about losing her teeth. She swears this happens whenever she forgets to brush her teeth. I don’t know how anyone can forget to brush their teeth. Isn’t it a task that is performed at roughly the same time every day? People are strange. So are my dreams for that matter.
