My First Vet Visit
October 6th 2011 21:00
When I realised I had lost my Android over the weekend, I was nowhere near a phone booth. The reason why I needed one when I have a mobile was I needed the Telstra number for directory assistance so I could call all the shops I had been to to see if it had turned up at one of them.
I called Fred but he didn’t know the number either. He did, however, have access to a phone book so he said he would look up all the numbers for me and call me back.
In the meantime, I spotted a vet’s office. I decided to ask them if they had a phone book to save Fred the trouble. I looked through the glass door and thought it was closed as there didn’t seem to be anyone in there. I then pushed on the door and was surprised to see it swing open. I then went inside and looked around for a bell so I could use it to alert the staff.
I then heard a voice behind me: “Won’t be too long.”
I spun around and saw the vet inside his office with one of his patients, which turned out to be a grey cat. I couldn’t help but watch. The cat was lying on the table while the owner was stroking it. I heard the vet say, “Just take a tablet each day…” I kept watching the cat to calm me down as I was beginning to get stressed by the missing Android.
My phone then rang. It was Fred. I used that as my cue to leave. After all, there was no point in bothering the vet when Fred already had the information I needed.
