Cleaning the bathroom one morning, I reached for the Toilet Duck. I unscrewed the cap and happened to turn it over to notice a maggot embedded inside the cap. I looked at it closely, hoping it was dead. I then tried to flush it down the bathroom sink but the force of the water only ended up pushing the maggot further up the cap. Given my maggot phobia, there was no way I was going to get a needle to pry it out.
I then poured Toilet Duck inside the toilet bowl before going back to examining the dead maggot inside the cap. How on earth did it end up there? Why on earth would a maggot crawl inside there? Aren’t maggots supposed to be attracted to rotting organic material, particularly meat? What interest would it have in ingesting Toilet Duck?
After I had these thoughts, I screwed the cap back on and put the Toilet Duck away. A case of out of sight, out of mind.
