Years ago my sister found a sticker of a house fly for sale in a gift shop. It had a black fly on it that was the same size as a real fly. The background was transparent. My sister thought it was cool. I don’t know whether or not you were supposed to use it to trick people into thinking that it was a real fly but that was what happened when my sister stuck it on the kitchen wall. From a distance, my parents kept thinking it was a real fly and they would try and kill it only to find out it was fake. After this happened a couple of times, my parents got annoyed and made my sister take it off the kitchen wall. My sister reluctantly peeled the sticker off and that was the end of her fun.
I haven’t thought about this in years. I don’t even know what my sister did with the sticker after she peeled it off the wall. But it’s funny how when you’re lying in bed late at night, waiting for sleep to come, that you start having the weirdest thoughts and that was how I remembered the sticker.
My best friend Andrea’s brother used to also have funny stickers on his bedroom door. The most memorable one was that of a silhouette of a man with his mouth open with wavy lines coming out of his mouth. Superimposed over the silhouette was a red circle with a line going across it. Underneath the circle were the words “NO BAD BREATH”. That used to make me laugh. In fact, it still makes me laugh whenever I think about it.
