Not Another Cat Book!

Being a fan of all things feline and a bit of a hoarder, it took me a while to decide whether or not to buy this book:
Cat Mind, Cat Body book
I told myself I already had plenty of books about cats, how to take care of them, what to do in an emergency, feline health and so on. But I’m glad I did get it as it’s a bit leftfield. The author, a veterinary consultant who writes a newspaper column called Animal Doctor, has written a book about the more esoteric aspects of feline psychology. He covers topics such as cats grieving for their departed animal friends, cat ghosts, cats having life after death and psi-trailing (where cats are lost while their owners are moving and they manage to locate their owners’ new home weeks, months or even years later).
The only down side is this book actually covers other animals, not just cats so the title is actually misleading. But the cat stories – most of them sent in by his readers – are worth the price of the book. The story I found the saddest was that of a cat who bit off his tail after his feline friend died.
My old neighbour claims her cats, Higgins and Miggins, who are littermates, will die in close succession to each other. I believe the same thing will also happen to Butterscotch and Gingersnap. When Butterscotch went missing, Gingersnap went crazy. He was constantly running up to his owner wanting attention and became very clingy. Now that Butterscotch is back, Gingersnap’s behaviour has gone back to normal. If he could go so crazy over a week long absence, imagine how he’s going to react if Butterscotch dies before him…

Id like to say too, that I have tons of animal books....And I dont think my animals thought to read them. The more facts you find out, the more animals want to smash them to smithereens!
