Now This is What I Call a Proper Present

Catching up with an ex-colleague for lunch one day, he surprised me with the below gift from Japan.
“I remember you liked Choo Choo stationary so when I saw this, it reminded me of you and I decided to get it for you,” said my pal.
My jaw dropped as he pulled it out. “It’s beautiful, I gasped. “Oh, you shouldn’t have.” I felt guilty that I didn’t get him anything. Now that I think of it, most of my friends don’t buy presents for people outside of their family so it never occurred to me to get him a present. Not that I would know what he would like.
So here is yet another calendar to add to my 2011 calendar collection.
“Too bad it’s partially used,” he said, meaning that we were well into 2011.
