What’s an egg tooth you must be thinking. Well, when a duckling is ready to hatch, it has a small tooth on the top of its bill. It uses it to crack open the egg and the egg tooth falls off a few days later like an umbilical cord. Ahhh, so cute….
Unfortunately, in my case, Brown-o and White-o were already a couple of days old when my sister bought them from the pet shop so we weren’t the first living beings they set eyes on, so they never followed us around except when we had food. In fact, they were independent ducks, wanting to be left on their own to explore the garden and later, the rest of the neighbourhood.
