One Weird(?) Video

Youtube never fails to amaze me. Out of curiosity, I was searching for videos relating to the Warriors series of fantasy cat novels by Erin Hunter. I’ve become a huge fan of this series, despite my previous aversion to sci-fi and fantasy novels.
At first I thought this video was weird. A lady with a schoolmarm-ey, gravelly voice reads the prologue of Into the Wild, the first novel in this series. I was wondering why anyone would go to the trouble of doing this and then I thought der…maybe the lady thought she would make this recording so she could bring the series to blind people. Though, the people who put this together could have chosen someone with a less gravelly voice. The video certainly isn’t for those who can see as nothing happens. I wonder when the publishers are going to release an audio book version of the series.
Listening to this, I could close my eyes and take myself back into second grade when my teacher would read books aloud for us in the library or class room. Too bad she chose boring books so by the time she was finished, half the class had dozed off from boredom or pure exhaustion as she would always read aloud to us half an hour before the end of school. We would also end up slumped on our beanbags or on our desks. Just thinking about those innocent and simple times is enough to put a smile on my face.
