One of Brett’s relatives came up with a money making idea: How about she take in his boys and she will take care of them for a hundred and fifty dollars per week? Given that Brett is paying for them to be housed at an boarding house for about two hundred and ten a week, including a full time on site vet, understandably he knocked her back.
“If she had asked for a hundred dollars I might have considered it. But not a hundred and fifty,” said Brett.
“It doesn’t cost a hundred and fifty a week just to feed two cats,” said Fred when I told him.
“Not only that,” continued Brett, “she has this big black ugly cat called Mathew. He’s just horrible.”
The thought of my boys getting into a cat fight with a big black cat makes me shudder. My boys are tiny; given their Siamese heritage they are also light. I don’t think they would have much chance of winning any cat fight.
Meanwhile, Brett, the cats and I are still searching for a permanent home. He still hasn’t taken me up on my flat mate idea so I’ve gone looking for places just for myself.
