I’ve been at my current job for almost four years and my colleagues continue to tease me. One of them started referring to cats as rat catchers. How apt.
He will wind me up by telling me to hurry up and deliver these reports I have to run every half hour. If I bite back, he will say something like, “Go play with your rat catcher,” meaning my husband, Butterscotch, of course.
According to Brett, neither Butterscotch nor Gingersnap have ever caught rodents. He has found dead birds lying around, which he suspects were caused by Butterscotch (why he doesn’t think Gingersnap could also have killed them is a puzzle to me. After all, cats are killers by instinct.)
