Once again, another poor feline leaves this earth. This time it is my friend Kate’s tabby’s brother called Dippy. He wasn’t even a year old and had just found a new home. There he was, with his new Cat Mum and Dad of three weeks. The humans were watching TV and Dippy was lying on the arm of the couch when he fell onto the floor. His Mum and Dad picked him up but he was already dead. The vet said he had suffered a stroke.

My friend is now worried as the vet said the stroke is genetic and she will have to wait until her cat Milo is three years old before he reaches the all clear. I tried to console my friend by saying at least she knows and can do something about it.

When I think about it, I am surprised that Kate and I are even friends. We both dislike people and prefer the company of animals. Logically we shouldn’t be friends but we are and we can tell each other things knowing that the other person will understand exactly how we feel. Let’s hope little Milo makes it to his first, then second, then third birthday…

awww! That is terribly sad and what a shock it would have been.

I am still grieving over the recent loss of my most adored Stella, the pugface person.

I read the article about adopting an older dog, it made me think... Our Stella was six months when we got her.

Anyway, I'm not planning on getting another dog, it really has destroyed me emotionally this time, and i've lived with quite a few dogs over the years.

cheers

Hi Fog,

I know how you feel. When my pet ducks died, the first thing my father did was to get some replacement ducks. My sister and I didn't want replacement ducks; we just wanted our first pair to come back. That was over twenty years ago and we still feel the same way.
