Scaredy Cats

I didn’t realise how much I had taken friendly cats for granted until a few days ago. Surrounded by so many friendly felines in the neighbourhood, I had forgotten how scared they can be until I took a different route home and spotted three kittens lurking around some cars.
I naturally approached them, only to have the three of them bolt under the nearest car. I walked away, turned around and noticed they had come back from under the car. I approached them, only to be met with the same result.
What a shame to lose such a potential friendship. We could have had a good thing going…
