Singenpoo

I thought life had returned to normal until I spotted this book at Dymocks Wynyard's closing down sale. It instantly brought back vivid memories of me flicking through the same book at Borders’ Chatswood store. I quickly had a skim. The storyline about a cat who can read and write seemed absurd so I decided to give it the flick since I was running late for a meeting. That said, when I arrived at the meeting, no one else had turned up yet so I decided to quickly run back to Dymocks and get it. Even if it turned out to be a dud, the memories it triggered were worth the price of the book.
Having said that, I got stuck into it today and discovered a hilarious and vulgar tale about a cat who likes to pee in his enemy’s wine. Later on, Singenpoo and her feline friends avenge themselves against the same enemy by pooing on his head. I never knew children went for this. I mean, I know my best friend Andrea and I were fond of telling each other poo stories when we were young but I thought we were the exception rather than the rule. But author Paul Jennings’ sales of eight million books just goes to show Andrea and I aren’t the only ones who delight in stories about bodily functions.
