Spot the Difference

Which cover do you prefer?
Why are they different? For those not in the know, the one on the left is the U.S. edition while the one on the right is the U.K./Australian edition.
I must say, I prefer the second cover although the first cover wins hands-down in the kitty sulkiness department.
